Many in this season are keen to sing "Joy to the world." But for some joy sits alongside grief or pain, and for others it feels like the grief and pain overwhelm the joy entirely.  Whether this Christmas is marked by the absence of someone we love, or we are hurting from some other pain or loss; Whatever burdens we are carrying, we gather on this night to shed tears if they come, to worship God even in the midst of mourning, and to claim for ourselves the light of hope, however small its glow may seem.  During this service you will be invited to light an individual candle to symbolise that hope.
