Every year when we announce the date of the sale an air of panic comes over me, what will the weather be like in the weeks leading up to it, it is never perfect.  Too hot, cold, wet, dry, frosty, will we have any plants to sell?

This year with all the snow and the cold damp start, everything was late, seedlings refused to get going, perennials were still dormant and the weeks were counting down, and then on top of that, there was the mice incident. I planted some sunflower seeds and overnight the little raiders came in for a midnight feast and left me not one seed.  Undaunted I set some more, covered them with nets, wire racks and barricaded the trays with anything else I could lay my hands on.  Feeling quite worried now, some urgent prayers offered, and then the miracle of Spring, a little sun, a rise in temperature and finally we were in business.  It’s amazing how nature balances itself.  So I am pleased to say we will have a lovely selection of plants for you to choose from. It’s time to get out there and stock your gardens with colour ready to enjoy the summer.  Let’s hope it’s a good one.

We have many perennial favourites, ground covering plants, vegetable seedlings and summer bedding, so do come along, there will be refreshments served.  We look forward to welcoming you.
