The Jubilate Choir with John Edwards"seduces our souls".

IMG 0415 The Concert

The Jubilate choir directed by John Edwards gave a wonderful performance entitled 'Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord" last night ,Wednesday 21st July.

An audience of over 40 enjoyed a wonderful illustrated guide to the English Church anthems which stretched from the work of Thomas Tallis in the 16th Century right through to modern works by Alan Bullard and John Rutter.

John gave a informative story of the development of church music through the ages starting from the split of the Christian church into the Western and Eastern parts in the eleventh century. The choir sang extracts from 13 different anthems and it was clear from the quality of their singing that a great deal of work had gone into making the evening such a success.

Michael Hooper, Churchwarden, thanked John and the Jubilate Choir for their joyous performance and quoting part of John Edwards talk he said that the choir had seduced the souls of the listeners.
