Horse Blessing Service

We had a splendid turn out for our 2016 St Ippolyts Church Horse Blessing Servive with 14 horses and riders coming to church for the service. Well not exactly in the church! Everyone congregated on the grass near the war memorial. Joining the horses were over thirty spectators all who helped to make it such an enjoyable service.

The Revd Ginni started by tell everyone of her fear of horses, but it was very clear that she soon overcame any worries as she patting and stoking each of the beautiful creatures as she blessed them all. A short reading was followed by 'All things bright and beautiful' and prayers.

A collection was taken at the end of the short service and the generous contributions from everyone mad it possible for us to send £110 to the Stevenage and District riding for trhe disabled.

This is such a wonderful event, look out for the 2017 service.
