This year the Bishop of St. Albans’ Harvest Appeal is partnering with Tearfund, a Christian international development agency that seeks to meet the needs of some of the world’s most vulnerable people
The money raised will help bring solar electricity to the poor and isolated rural communities of the Singida region of Tanzania, East Africa. This will truly light up lives - and not just literally. At present, people’s limited access to electricity means they face many challenges. Basic services, healthcare, education and family life are all diminished and damaged. This year’s appeal will not only give them electric light and power for the basics of modern life - things that we take for granted - but hope and a better future. A few more hours of light in the day will allow dreams of enterprise and community life to become realities, and families will be healthier and better able to take advantage of them.
Will you join me in spreading light and hope to our brothers and sisters in Tanzania?
The Rt. Revd. Dr. Alan Smith
